Somber days.
I just read a few moments ago that Lee Roy Selmon passed away yesterday, Sunday 9/4/2011. He suffered a massive stroke Friday, and initial reports indicated that he had died. These reports turned out to be false, but only in the short run. The diagnosis was terrible. The medical reports indicated that he had a large blood clot logged in his heart. This is almost always fatal, and one of the most immediate and difficult health threats to correct.
I suspected this might be the end, but we all hoped for the best. He was a personal hero of mine. He was one of the good guys as well a Hall of Fame defensive end.
