In praise of Taurus women, Part 2

So what can I say about Taurus women after a gallery like that one? Not much. A picture is worth a thousand words. It is a strange thing that Taurus, the bull, is a feminine Yin sign. Nevertheless, this is the case.

In ancient Greece, the Cow was the mascot/symbol of the temple of Aphrodite/Venus, the goddess of love. Taurus is ruled by Venus. So is Libra. According to the lore, this imbues Taurus women with a sensuality, beauty, sense of aesthetics, and sex drive that is difficult or impossible to match.

Of course, attraction is a relative thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you will pardon me for turning into a brutally honest Virgo critic for just one moment, I'll level with you completely.

Taurus women lack the instant one-punch knockout power of the Capricorn women. I've never been knocked over on my ass instantaneously by a Taurus woman. Many Capricorn women have demolished me to rubble with an instant thunderbolt.

Taurus women also lack the spell-binding, mesmerizing witchcraft of the Pisces women... but that is a good thing. I've never been under a tormenting spell of anguish at the hands of a Taurus woman. Regrettably, I have been under a spell of torment from a Pisces woman. I did not enjoy it. I don't look forward to this happening again in the future.

Just remember Osama Bin Laden was a 3/10/1954 Pisces. Billy Devaney is a 3/7/1955 Pisces. Enough said.

What the Taurus women have is a pure, raw, simple beauty, and a whole bunch of sizzle. That's pretty damn good folks. That ain't a bad thing. There is no doubt they have a ton of allure in them. It usually takes sustained exposure to one over a period of time, by I have become obsessed with more than one Taurus woman in my time. Still, I have never had a Taurus girlfriend (yet). We'll have to see about this in the future.

For a Virgo guy like me, a Taurus woman is theoretically one of your top 3 potential match-ups in life. Those top three would be Capricorn, Taurus and Pisces. The order of those three would be heavily disputed by experts who don't necessarily see eye-to-eye. Nevertheless, all three would be at the top of the list.

Cancer, Scorpio and Virgo would come in as your second tier options. Most experts would expect good levels of compatibility and a solid chance of success with any of these three.

Leo, Libra and Gemini would rank as risky possibilities, pregnant with potential strife and failure. Aries, Sagittarius and Aquarius would normally be sited as the highest-risk candidates, fraught with the highest percentages of problems and failure.

I happen to be an odd Virgo. I happen to be an Air Adept. I also have a lot of fire under the hood. I have an Aries Moon and a pair of Leos on Venus and Mars. These Leos usually form an antagonizing 90 degree square angle with most Taurus people. This usually sends the romance scores down. These two Leos also form hellacious 180 degree oppositions with Aquarius women around the dark and wintery side of the year. This shoots the score way up. My Moon, Venus, and Mars form a bunch of spectacular Trines with Aries, Leo and Sagittarius women.

This is all a very long-winded and technical way to say that normal patterns and generalizations don't necessarily apply to me. Nevertheless, there are plenty of Taurus women with fire under the hood also. I don't have outlandish scores against Taurus women the way I do with Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, and Capricorn women, but my scores are high enough to warrant consideration in some cases.

Who knows... I just may go this route after all.

The Results of the Meeting

Intro

So I just returned from my (hopefully) first meeting with Colin’s sister in law, Caroline. What were the results of this meeting? Simple and complicated. In a single word: Indecisive. No conclusion was reached. However, I think this was a starting point, not an ending point. This is not too difficult to understand, if you happen to be a Virgo guy.

What happened?

The birthday party took place at Shakey’s Pizza in Culver City, not far from the NFL Network. It was very well attended. There were probably 30-35 people there. We occupied many tables. Not precisely an intimate gathering at home.

I got a look at her. She got a look at me. We were introduced by Valerie. She scampered off to sit with a group of girls. I sat down with her dad and Colin’s dad, and we had one hell of a conversation about the economic meltdown of 2008, Inside Job, and politics in California. As you well know, I absolutely did not want to discuss the NFL Draft.

There was a surveillance operation going on both sides of the fence. She was observing me, and I was observing her. We did not converse. At the end of the party we shook hands and said “It was a pleasure meeting you”.

We will see what happens next.

That’s all?

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking this was a complete failure and disaster. If you are a fire/air type, you are fundamentally biased to think that. You guys are aggressive, impulsive, and have fast-lite ignition switches. Earth people ain’t like that. Virgo and Capricorn are especially not like that. Taurus is a little more like that, but still not like that.

How would I interpret these events?

  • I got every impression that she knew why I was there. Valerie gave her a full briefing. Conversely, I know she showed up anyhow, and was willing to be introduced.
  • There was no thunderbolt of love at first site.
  • I got a shy and even fearful vibe off her. She was not prepared to engage in a 2 hour “getting to know you” conversation just yet. I totally get that. I am exactly the same way. How can you be any other way in these situations?
  • I did not get the impression that she is a generally fearful and shy woman. On the contrary, I got the impression that she’s pretty damn bold… about everything else in the world besides a potential suitor.
  • She was cautiously evaluating me, even as I was cautiously evaluating her.
  • Caroline maintained a poker face and played her cards close to the vest. As the Star Goddess says, Capricorn women are difficult to read because they maintain a stony face. It is often hard for a man to discern whether she likes him or hates him. She often won’t show either case.
  • I never got a hard negative vibe from her.
  • I think she did not reach a decision. She collected information and has taken it under advisement.
  • I don’t think she will be hasty in making a decision either.
  • I am sure she will ask her dad for details about our conversation, and his impression of me.
  • Was there any chemistry? On my side I can tell you I liked the way she looks. She has a beautiful face. She has a very characteristic French Capricorn look, and that looks plenty good to me.
  • I will have to ask for some feedback from Valery to see if Carolina liked the way I look.
  • If we had had a conversation, I could tell you more.
  • I got along great with her dad. This is as it should be. His birthday was two days ago. He is a Taurus.

I’m pretty sure I understand what she was up to. This was a mirror operation occurring on both sides of the Atlantic. I got every impression I was dealing with a personality similar to mine.

Earth people are cautious, conservative, discrete, never impulsive or reckless. We don’t gamble and we don’t throw caution to the wind. We play our cards close to the vest. We like to cautiously observe, evaluate, go home, think about it, and make a decision about having a second look. We’ll take a second look, and maybe a third.

Sometime this evening, after carefully consideration, she will decide whether she liked her first look or not. She’ll decide whether she wants a second look.

You know what? Her approach suited me just fine. This is precisely what I wanted to do at this event. It didn’t take me too long to decide afterward. About 20 minutes after driving away, I decided I would like a second look. I would like to see if anything more develops in the second round.

If something big comes out of this meeting, it will take considerable time to develop. We are not hasty people. You make a decision only when you feel you have sufficient facts and information to make a solid decision with reasonable certainty. You don’t take any longer than necessary to make a decision, but you don’t skip steps or take short-cuts. That’s how mistakes happen.

If you think that’s anti-romantic, you simply lack understanding. Earth people are petty sensitive. When we get hurt, we really get hurt. The damage is profound, and it takes years to recover. Caution is a defense mechanism. Why do we get hurt? Because we get really, truly, madly, deeply involved. When we decide, we really decide.

I get it. Trust me, I understand this approach completely.

Conclusions

I have to say, this was an intriguing exercise this afternoon. Several things I have been told about Capricorn-Virgo meeting/courtship were very evident this afternoon. This is a good thing. Predictability permits good and careful planning. You like that if you are earth people.

Editors note: I am not worried about the claws.

So tomorrow is the big day

Tomorrow is Valerie's birthday party. Valerie is my best-buddy Colin's Wife. Valerie happens to have a sister. This sister is about 30-31, born 12/27 either in 1979 or 1980. This makes her a Capricorn. As you know I am a Virgo. Obtaining the precise year is an important objective for our first meeting.

Problem is I don't even know her name. Colin has been withholding all of this information, insisting this must but obtained in idle chit-chat. He's a schemer, that one.

I am banking on 1979. If the year is 1979, the natal synastry is tremendous. A pack of 200s with very nice balance. If the year is 1980, it's another story entirely. The scores are generally good, but there is no romance. We would make great business partners, but not paramours. We would be well advised to start a software firm together, though.

Did I mention she had a degree in Computer Science and does something Computer Science related in her profession? I should have. Colin is not precisely sure just precisely what she does for a living, but he says it is in CompSci. He never inquired about specifics. As a non-computer savvy guy, he probably wouldn't comprehend her response very well if he ever did ask her for specifics.

I have yet to find a Capricorn with whom I have wretched scores. In all the test data I have generated, between 1966 and 1995, I have never found a wretched set of Capricorn score versus me. I may not have great romance scores with most Capricorns, but the scores are always generally favorable. Similarity of interest, pleasantness and peace, joint problem solving, communication, mutual success all look pretty respectable in most cases.

The Pre-Season begins for me tomorrow.

I am not prepared to enter the meat market in any serious way. I am not done with my physical transformation just yet. I have lost approximately 20% of my body mass, meaning I am 66% of the way to the goal. Of course, this means I have another 10% of my former mass to lose, or 34% of this voyage left to go.

Nevertheless, Pre-Season begins tomorrow. Let's say that I am going to dip my toe in the pool this Spring, but it is too cold yet to go for a swim. When summer arrives, I'll be ready to jump in the pool.

In praise of Capricorn women

You'll have to pardon me folks, but I am a trifle over-stimulated. You see, it is Capricorn season. All the little Capricorn girls are celebrating their birthdays during this 31 day cycle. The birthday lists are veritable whose-who of the women who have driven me completely bat-shit crazy throughout my entire life.

You don't know what I'm talking about? Have a look. Are these not the most ravishing, gorgeous, stunning, elegant, appetizing, alluring, delightful, delectable, amazing, shattering, breath-taking heart-attack thrillers you have ever seen? Are these not the most excellent examples of womanity in the entire world? These are only a few of them. When you look down the birthday list it's just one femme fatal after another. Bombshell after bombshell. Believe me, there are a whole lot more.

The Capricorn girls are the reason why this is the most wonderful time of the year.

We have three excellent seasons in a row with Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Still, I think there are going to have to be a lot of serious surprises in store if the Aquarius and Pisces girls are to out-compete this collection. We'll have an interruption with Aries season, but then it is on to Taurus season. We'll see of the Taurus girls can hang and bang with the Capricorns.

If I had to make my list of the Top 10 Capricorn girls I have seen thus far, it would probably have to got like this:
  1. Paz Vega
  2. Gong Li
  3. Joan Severance
  4. Michelle Wild
  5. Ava Gardner
  6. Leonor Varela
  7. Marsha Thomson
  8. Maryam d'Abo
  9. Michelle Forbes
  10. Aaliyah

So I discovered my buddy has been holding out on me, Part 2

So, I had a quick phone conversation with my buddy Colin regarding his Sister-in-Law tonight. Specifically, I was trying to pin down specifics about her birthday. We have to know these things, you know.

Colin says she was born on 12/27/1979 or 12/27/1980. He doesn't remember which. It's not his fault. Women don't like you to know their ages. The location was UCLA Medical. The time is unknown.

I ran both sets of scores, presuming that the information is accurate. The story is pretty simple. If the year was 1978 or 1979, we're on till the break of dawn. If the year was 1980 or 1981, forget about it. Here are the numbers.

Discussion
Naturally, these results have only heightened my interest in the situation. If both sets of numbers had been bad, there would be no point in continuing. However, both sets of numbers are not bad. One set is extremely good. So it is time to put the doctrine to the test.

According to the report, the sister in law is down in the dumps about her recent split with the last candidate for marriage. This is normal. However, Capricorns are purported to be more prone to fits of depression than your average individual. They take everything deadly seriously, even if they pretend they aren't. Like Virgo, they manifest a stony face, but there is turmoil inside.

Let's hope I can give her a new lease on life. I'd be willing to bet you that she's never tried a Virgo before. If she had, she'd be married by now.

So I discovered my buddy has been holding out on me...

I made a surprising discovery last night. It all began when I went over to my buddies house to watch the Rose Bowl. This turned out to be the only good Bowl Game of the day, as TCU prevailed 21-19 and completed a perfect season.

Immediately after the game, we were making idle chit-chat with Colin's wife whilst watching the "America's worst cooks" on the Food Network. I guessed that Chef Anne Burrell was a Cardinal sign because she is a bossy coach, not a mild mannered teacher. I supposed that she was either an Aries or a Capricorn, and probably a Capricorn.

[As it turns out, Anne Burrell has conflicting dates of birth, but she is probably an Aries.]

Immediately, Valerie agreed with me, stating her sister was all three of these things: deep into cooking, a bossy coach, and a Capricorn. For the record, Valerie is the older sister, and a Taurus. Colin is a Cancer. Cancer and Taurus go well together in general, so I am not surprised they have lasted 16 years, and are still going strong.

But I digress...

My eyes just about bugged out of my head when I discovered that:
  1. Valarie had a sister.
  2. This sister was younger, and actually the youngest of her clan.
  3. She's into cooking
  4. She is a Capricorn.
It gets better. Colin later informed me that she is a computer scientist, and recently single again... not that she was ever married. Rather, she realized that the long-term boyfriend would never ask her to marry him, so she ended it. For the record, Valarie is a French-Brazilian girl, and so too is her sister.

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed in my buddy Colin. I can't believe he would hold out on me like that. He knows damn well that I greatly prefer the Capricorn women, and it sounds like he has a perfect candidate. As I said before, when Capricorn and Virgo team up, there is tremendous dynamism. We go together like ice cream and apple pie, like popcorn and butter, like brick and mortar.

Personally, I am not to worried about the bossy shit. That doesn't usually manifest itself between Capricorn and Virgo. There is a cooperative spirit between us... usually. The bossiness is usually for everybody else.

Born under a bad star (for football)

Right now the NFL is running a hype commercial for NFL Redzone with a cover of the famous song featuring the lyric "I can never break away from you." That keeps me thinking about the infamous Heath Ledger quote from Broke Back Mountain "I wish I knew how to quit you." You see, I've got this bad thing for sheep and goats. No, it's not what you think. It's actually worse.

Boy... swore I was going to quit those Rams in 2010. Just when I thought I was out, they keep dragging me back in, or so says Michael Corleone. I've already posted a few more blogs about 'dem Rams when I swore I would not.

Naturally, I blame astrology for this terrible affliction. I was born under a bad sign for football. My mom is an Aries. It just so happens that my Moon is in Aries. My brother's moon is also in Aries. I am not yet sure of my sister's moon position.

Aries is the fire Ram. The image of Aries, god of war mind you, is of a fiery battering ram charging through a battlefield and knocking down strongholds. They often wonder why Rams, a prey animal, are depicted fighting Lions, Tigers and Bears. Because it is the ancient symbol of the god of war, Jack. Study a bit of Greek and Roman culture and you will find out about these things.

If that were not enough, there is this other little astrological sign called Capricorn which is depicted variously as a goat, or a ram, or a mermaid ram. Strange that Capricorn is often called a sea-goat or sea-ram when Capricorn is an earth sign. Well... you know by now... I have a serious thing for these Capricorn women, and that is probably an understatement. Whilst Taurus is frequently sited as the optimal solution for a Virgo male, Capricorn is a very close 2nd. Virgo-Capricorn marriages are extremely common, and usually highly successful. Whilst there have been a number Taurus women who have captivated me, Capricorn always seems a wee bit stronger. The Capricorn clan is the odds on favorite to capture this Virgo sooner or later.

So I have this strange subconscious, symbolic predilection to pull like hell for these guys with the horns on their helmets. I'm not talking about the Viking horns either. This a bad predilection for football, especially these days.

When I became a Ram fan some 30 years ago, the Rams were the 3rd winningest team in NFL history by percentage. How did I know that? The Raiders boasted openly every year they had the #1 winning percentage of any time in the league. The Cowboys were listed (by the Raiders) as #2. The Rams were listed (by Raiders) as the #3 team. Don't take my word for it. Watch the Raider films from 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981. Al Davis will tell you about it. Both of those teams are a hell of a lot younger than the Rams. Both the Cowboys and the Raiders were founded in 1960. The Rams were founded in 1937.

Now here we are, some 30 years later, and the Rams winning percentage is nowhere near that good. The past 30 seasons at 16 games apiece have not been all that good to Rams fans. The Georgia era was not a good one. Yes we've had some good campaigns, but we narrowly avoided being the worst team of the 1990s, and the 2000s were not as good as they should have been. Now as the new decade begins, we are off and stumbling again, with a highly questionable rebuilding program. The man orchistrating this program has his Sun in Pisces, and his Mercury in Aquarius, just like my own brother Ben.

With all due respect to Ben, I wouldn't trust him to rebuild the Rams. Given the task, I am sure Ben would punt the ball to me. I would do it better, and he would gladly admit that fact, I am sure. The Star Goddess Janet Scialis claims all Virgos truely and sincerely believe they can do the job--whatever job--better than anybody else on the planet. That's no bullshit, and that convinction is usually true. That's no bullshit either.

Never before have I been so burned up by personnel moves, and non-moves by Rams. That's saying an awful lot. Believe me, there have been a few episodes where I was utterly at odds with the teams' decisions. This usually foreshadowed despirate times ahead. I hated the drafts we had at the end of 1980s and begining of the 1990s. Those drafts are now legendary fiascos in NFL history. They setup a lost decade and a move to St. Louis.

Never before have I wanted to decapitate a GM so badly. Never before have I wanted to execute a Coup De Etad with myself at the forefront. I am really damn tired of this futility. Somebody is going to have to start making some good moves. If they won't do it, I would be only too happy to sieze control run the show.

Who knows what these past few disasterous drafts will do to a team already at the bottom of the heap? Logic dictates that I should run, not walk, away. Still I seem powerless to break free.

Struck down by the Thunderbolt!

So I got my very first look at Katy Perry's "California Gurls" video this morning. I know I am a couple of months late to the party. You'll have to pardon me, but I don't track pop music. Pop music is not Metal music. I am a Metal puritan. I rarely go outside my Metal domain.

Well folks, this is good reason to go outside the domain. You'll have to pardon this blog entry a bit because I am still a little dazed and confused after seeing this video. It was like getting hit by Jack Tatum. The shockwave went through my body, and I dropped dead. Lights out! It was a one-punch knockout. I have a pretty serious concision at the moment.

God damn those Capricorn women... They do it to me every time! Cut down by the thunderbolt again! So here we have another Capricorn specimen who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Paz Vega. Wow... What did I tell you about Capricorns? Did I not say these were the Goddess women? Why does anybody even listen to Lady Gaga when you have Katie Perry around? I mean fuckin'a man!?!?! I don't know what you see here, but I see what I like. That much is certain.

I want to go on the record and declare that there is a 100% chance that this track will come in at #1 on the Top 40 chart for 2010. There is a 0.00% chance of this track coming in any lower than #1. The video will be the landslide-winner. Number 2 won't even be close.

Just one little analytical problem here: Katie Perry was born in London England on December 30th, 1980 from Australian parents, and she is an Australian citizen. So in what sense is she a California girl? If you want you citizenship, you will have to marry me woman.

But this is a small technicality... Of course, this little detail would never escape the most observant dude of the zodiac, would it? Sunkissed skin so hot it melts my Popsicle. Listen, you can climb up my candy-cane snake anytime you want.

Notice she has Sagittarius on Venus, like Sam Bradford. Fire on the love planet. I got Leo. That's a nice match-up.
