So the Rams talked with Steve Sarkisian also?

One published report indicates that the Rams made contact with form USC offensive coordinator and current Washington Huskies HC Steve Sarkisian.  Kroenke wanted him to fill our currently vacant offensive coordinator position.  You can read about it here.

Sarkisian would have been a nice fit for the job, IMHO, as he is a bright offensive mind, a former QB, and a Pisces dude.  He would have had good synastry with Sam Bradford.

Unfortunately, Sark has already turned us down.  He simply had no interest in the position.  It's just too much of a lateral, if not southward, move in the pyramid.

I am worried that we are addressing our deepest needs last.  Fixing our offense is our most pressing, urgent, imperative goal of the off-season.  Our offense is what is stopping us.

A few ruminations on "the big game"

I am a Bruin. If you asked me to rate my level of excitement about tomorrow's UCLA vs. USC game on a scale of 0-100, I would answer 0. Zero? Yep Zero (0). ZERO?!?!? Why so low?

Well, let me tell you about that. Both teams have loosing records. Neither of us is bowl eligible, meaning we will both miss bowl season completely. The Trojans are on probation and have a poor record. We Bruins are just plan poor. This game has absolutely nothing to do with the PAC-10 title. This game has no significance on the national stage. The Trojans are coming off a loss to Fighting Irish. We are coming off numerous losses. Both teams are having years to forget.

Unless I miss my guess, this will be the most forgettable game in the entire history of the series. I, for one, am not planning to watch.

USC Trojans snark "You know we are going to win". Bruins try to peak my interest by asking questions like "So can we break the Trojans winning streak this year?" I don't want to get involved...

Terry Donohue says we will break the streak, but he is an ultra-homer and you know it. Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times officially picked the Bruins by a score of 24-17 in Overtime. I don't know his background, so I can't account for his biases. I am pessimistic, as usual. Let's hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Frankly, I am not at all pleased by the way this college season has unfolded. There have been many scores of disapointments in this year tained by the fragmentation of the Big-12, and the Cam Newton scandal.

Congratulations to Pat Haden

So the news just broke: Mike Garrett will be stepping down after 17 years as the Athletic Director of USC. Former Trojan and Ram QB Pat Haden will be taking over. I am very happy for you Pat. Congratulations! It just feels right. I think you are where you aught to be. I am sure you are the best guy for this job.

For those of you who don't know, Pat is a famous Rhodes Scholar from USC. He was their quarterback during the epoch of John McKay. They won three Rose Bowls and two national championships during his run. He went on to modest 6 year career with my Rams. Pat's career was interrupted for some 2 or 3 years by the arrival of Vince Ferragamo, who remains a folk hero in these parts.

There is some question regarding the departure of Garrett. It was a successful run, however, he leaves under a cloud. We all know the suspension USC is suffering right now. Sources say Garrett will be allowed to retire, but there are already plenty of whispers that he was pushed.

I disagreed with Pat Haden like crazy about Joe Montana, and I was a supporter of Ferragamo, but I never disliked Pat Haden. I have usually been a supporter of his. He is a good commentator, and he has always remained close to the USC Football program. I think this is a solid move.

Don't ask me why I am commenting on this subject. I am a Bruin. I was never a Trojan. I was Ram fan, but not anymore. I really should butt out.
